This is how I will look at full term

This photo is taken during my first maternity wear shopping trip (more than 2 months ago). The sales assistant kindly gave me a fake stomach to show me how the maternity pants will fit when I reach full term. What a great idea, don't you think you?

Supernatural Childbirth

I've been reading quite a bit about pregnancy and childbirth since I found out I'm pregnant. A particular book that encouraged me greatly is "Supernatural Childbirth" by Jackie Mize. Some will know that I get really squeamish when I hear about the process of childbirth, especially when it gets to the part about "cutting" and "tearing". Hence I am extremely excited to know that I can have a SUPERNATURAL childbirth free of pain because "by His stripes we are healed"! This piece of good news is really comforting to me because I was determined to use epidural during labour (my threshold for pain is close to zero) but yet was worried about the possible side effects on baby and myself. At least now I know that pain is not a prerequisite for childbirth! It also helps that i have a very loving and supportive husband that prays with and for me. You're the best, my growing Daddy! (I suspect daddy is growing at a faster rate than baby! Hehe...)

Groove-Amada(A Father)

It's a fact of life; I have gained an undisclosable amount of weight! My pants dont fit anymore, the buttons seem to be screeming to break free...not to mentioned my curves are subtly hinting a tinge of vulgarity. And oh yes...Felicia's tummy has gotten slightly bigger.

We visited our gynae last Friday. Dr Adelina Wong is probably one of the most gentle and polite people I have met in my entire existence. Like in a set out of the movie 'Pleasent-Ville', I felt an unexplainable importance to speak gently while in her presence as well. She's great, i'm sure Felicia will further elaborate.

Our Little One is 3.6mm in size, approximately 6 weeks on. We did the scan that revealed the heartbeat, which according to our good friend Steven, is like a techno-beat thumping furiously to the rhythm that now has begun to play in my head. Maybe this is what people mean when they say that you'll feel the heartbeat of your child. Where some feel with their heart, others feel with their head. I choose to fell with my being.

P.S. To my best friend who is carrying our child, I love you.

WOO-HOO-HAAA-AAA

Its hard to put in words how i am feeling right now. I'm more than over-joyed and less than hysterical. But I reckon the pictures taken of me by the paparazzi tell it all. I'm still coming to terms with the idea of becoming a father. One never can be fully prepared for such a responsibilty, you just have to prepare, learn and apply along the way. The idea of being a father while I am a son to my father also throws me into a different paradigm, especially since I still feel like I'm 18 and have hooked up with a hottie! (hehehehe)
Its a great feeling 'tho, especially since I love children. To our little one, when you are old enought to understand, always remember that your Dad is the MAN, your Mom is the SWEETEST and you are PRECIOUS!

First Gynae Visit

Looking for a gynae was mind boggling for me. Male one? Female one? Thomson Medical centre or Mt. Alvernia? Gleneagles or Mt. E? This is what I have decided after scouring through multiple forums and getting different opinions from my ex-pregnant girlfriends:
1. Female
2. Thomson Medical Centre (near workplace)
3. Christian
4. Extra gentle and patient

I thought I found all the above qualities in Dr Adelina Wong so I will be visiting her on 11 Apr 08. Meanwhile I went to "confirm" my pregnancy with Dr SH Chen from Bishan 8 clinic. This is the result:

I had to be contented with another positive urine test that cost $25 as the scan did not show any sign of pregnancy yet. Dr Chen said the "pregnancy is still at the fallopian tube."

I was given milk powder and folic acid after that. I actually asked if there is any replacement for milk powder (those who know me know that I do not take milk) and I was simply told "N0." Then I was desperate enough to ask for chocolate flavour instead vanilla but was told "sorry, out of stock." She then kindly told me "trick yourself to drink lor, put some in your milo, no choice lah, good for your baby."

What to do? Drink it up lor.

Come here!!!

On Sunday morning (30 Apr 08), my husband was awoken by "Daniel! Come here!!!"

I decided to do a pregnancy test to confirm that I was not pregnant instead I found out that I am!

My regular period was late for the month of March hence I though I could be pregnant, however, the two pregnancy tests that I took returned negative results. I was quite sure I wasn't pregnant but I decided to test again on Sunday just to be sure, so that I could go to a gynae to find out what was wrong. In fact I was so sure that I was not expecting that I signed up for pilates class on Mondays, went to the gym on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, did pole dancing on Thursdays and swam on Sundays, because I wanted to lose the extra inches from my hips and tummy areas.

So I was really pleasant surprised when I had 2 positive results to show! Daniel and I were extremely thrilled to know that we're going to be parents and our parents were elated to be grandparents too
